Last Aid Training (In-Person) – April 18 | 10:00 AM–2:00 PM
Location: Beth Donovan Hospice

Last Aid is a practical, compassionate public education course that builds comfort and confidence in talking about death, dying, grief, and bereavement. It is for anyone who wants to better understand how to care for people close to them during end-of-life, loss, and grief.

This in-person session will be held at Beth Donovan Hospice and is tailored to the Ontario context. Participants will learn about palliative and hospice care, what the dying process often looks like, how to plan ahead, and practical ways to provide comfort and support. The course also explores common signs and symptoms at end of life, frequently used medical terms, and how to talk about grief—especially with children.

The session will be facilitated by Amy Tibben, Darlene Collin, Lynn Turnbull, and Olga Nikolajev. Complimentary light refreshments will be served, and participants will receive a certificate upon completion.

Last Aid is offered by the Canadian Hospice Palliative Care Association and supported locally by Beth Donovan Hospice.

Cost: $30 (participants will be provided with course materials)
Capacity: Limited to 20 participants
