Join us on Monday, August 31, from 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM at Rotary Park in Kemptville for North Grenville's International Overdose Awareness Day Memorial Gathering.

Each year, we come together to honour the lives of those who have died from overdose, support the families and friends who continue to grieve, and raise awareness about the impact of substance use in our community. This event is an opportunity to challenge the stigma that too often surrounds addiction and overdose, recognizing that every life has value and every person deserves compassion.

The memorial ceremony will include poetry, music, personal reflections, and the reading of names in remembrance of those we have lost. Guests will also have the opportunity to place a purple flag in our memorial garden in honour of a loved one.

Community organizations will be on site with information, support, harm reduction resources, and Naloxone education.

Whether you have experienced this type of loss personally, know someone who has, work in health or social services, or simply believe in building a more compassionate community, we invite you to stand with us.

Together, we remember. Together, we reduce stigma. Together, we create hope.

Admission is free, but registration is appreciated.

Co-hosted by Beth Donovan Hospice, Compassionate North Grenville, and the Kemptville Stress Relief Centre.

Advance Registration Encouraged so we can prepare enough refreshments
