Our Programs and Services

Beth Donovan Hospice is a charity committed to providing quality care while enhancing comfort, dignity, choice, and the quality of life. We support clients for the duration of their illness continuing on with the surviving family with bereavement support. The focus is on caring, not curing, and on life, not death.

We serve all members of the community who have a life-limiting illness with no fee for any services. A terminal diagnosis is not the exclusive criteria.

Day Hospice

The Beth Donovan Hospice DAY PROGRAM is available to individuals living in North Grenville and surrounding rural areas who are living with a life-threatening or terminal illness. Here, you will find rest and relaxation, supportive relationships and therapeutic value. Our program is coordinated and staffed by a Registered Nurse and supported by our dedicated hospice volunteer team.
It is offered every Thursday at St. John's United Church from 10-3 pm.

Hospice/Palliative Care

We offer support to newly diagnosed clients and their families, during surgery and/or treatment;

Our trained volunteers provide emotional support, companionship and offer periods of respite for the caregiver in four-hour increments each week;

Spiritual support for families and clients is provided through our Hospice Chaplaincy;

We collaborate care with family physicians, family, and hospital staff;

We provide assistance with needed medical supplies and equipment through our free Equipment Lending Program.

Equipment Lending

There is a list of the types of equipment we have in stock at the present time on our Equipment Lending page. Please note, we cannot guarantee that an item will be available, as it is on a first come, first serve basis.To enquire about a particular item please call us at 613-258-9611.

 We are happy to accept donations of mobility/medical equipment which are in good, fairly new condition.
We also provide resources for Pain and Symptom Management.

    • Peer support is also available in group format throughout the community, which:
      • offers a compassionate ear for those in need of open grieving;
      • offers an informal, yet caring and supportive, environment;
      • provides the opportunity to form social networks with others experiencing similar situations of loss.
